Question 1

Show that the product of three consecutive integers is the sum of four integer cubes.

Question 2

Let $a$, $b$ and $c$ be the sides of a triangle and $p = a + b + c$. Show that

a. $\frac{a}{b+c-a} + \frac{b}{c+a-b} + \frac{c}{a+b-c} \ge 3$;

b. $a^k + b^k \gt \frac{c^k}{2^{k-1}}$ for $k = 2, 3, 4, \dots$;

c. $a^k + b^k + c^k \ge \frac{p^k}{3^{k-1}}$ for $k = 2, 3, 4, \dots$.

Question 3

Let $H$ be an arbitrary point on the altitude $CP$ of an acute triangle $ABC$. The lines $AH$ and $BH$ intersect $BC$ and $AC$ in $M$ and $N$ respectively. Show that $\angle NPC = \angle MPC$.

Question 4

Let $x_1$ and $y_1$ be positive integers satisfying $x_1 + y_1 = 2^r$, where $r$ is a positive integer. If $x_1 \lt y_1$, let $x_2 = 2x_1$ and $y_2 = 2^r - x_2$. On the other hand, if $x_1 \gt y_1$, then we let $y_2 = 2y_1$ and $x_2 = 2^r - y_2$. Apply the same procedure to $(x_2, y_2)$, and so on. Show that the procedure will end in finitely many steps, i.e. there exists a $k$ such that $x_k = y_k$. (For example, let $(x_1, y_1) = (7, 57)$, with $x_1 + y_1 = 2^6$. Then $(x_2, y_2) = (14, 50)$, $(x_3, y_3) = (28, 36)$, $(x_4, y_4) = (56, 8)$, $(x_5, y_5) = (48, 16)$, and finally $(x_6, y_6) = (32, 32)$.)

Question 5

For each permutation $x_1, x_2, \dots, x_{10}$ of $1, 2, \dots, 10$, compute
$$
|2x_1 - 3x_2| + |2x_2 - 3x_3| + |2x_3 - 3x_4| + \dots + |2x_{10} - 3x_1|.
$$
Let $S$ be the maximum possible value of this sum. Find the number of permutations attaining $S$.

Question 6

Let $p$ be a prime number and $f(x)$ be a polynomial with rational coefficients and is of degree $p$. Furthermore (i) $f(m)$ is an integer for any integer $m$ and (ii) $p$ divides $f(p+1) - f(1)$. Find all such polynomials.

Question 7

Let $S \subseteq \mathbb{R}$ be a set of real numbers. We say that a pair $(f, g)$ of functions from $S$ into $S$ is a Spanish Couple on $S$, if they satisfy the following conditions:
(i) Both functions are strictly increasing, i.e. $f(x) \lt f(y)$ and $g(x) \lt g(y)$ for all $x, y \in S$ with $x \lt y$;
(ii) The inequality $f(g(g(x))) \lt g(f(x))$ holds for all $x \in S$.
Decide whether there exists a Spanish Couple

a. on the set $S = \mathbb{N}$ of positive integers;
b. on the set $S = \{ a - 1 / b : a, b \in \mathbb{N} \}$.

Question 8

For an integer $m$, denote by $t(m)$ the unique number in $\{1,2,3\}$ such that $m+t(m)$ is a multiple of $3$. A function $f: \mathbb{Z} \rightarrow \mathbb{Z}$ satisfies $f(-1)=0$, $f(0)=1$, $f(1)=-1$ and
$$
f\left(2^{n}+m\right)=f\left(2^{n}-t(m)\right)-f(m) \quad \text{ for all integers } m, n \geq 0 \text{ with } 2^{n} \gt m.
$$

Prove that $f(3p) \geq 0$ holds for all integers $p \geq 0$.

Question 9

Let $a$, $b$, $c$, $d$ be positive real numbers such that
$$
a b c d = 1 \quad \text{ and } \quad a + b + c + d \gt \frac{a}{b} + \frac{b}{c} + \frac{c}{d} + \frac{d}{a}
$$
Prove that
$$
a + b + c + d \lt \frac{b}{a} + \frac{c}{b} + \frac{d}{c} + \frac{a}{d}
$$

Question 10

Let $f: \mathbb{R} \rightarrow \mathbb{N}$ be a function which satisfies
$$
f\left(x+\frac{1}{f(y)}\right)=f\left(y+\frac{1}{f(x)}\right) \quad \text{ for all } x, y \in \mathbb{R}
$$
Prove that there is a positive integer which is not a value of $f$.

Question 11

Prove that for any four positive real numbers $a$, $b$, $c$, $d$ the inequality
$$
\frac{(a-b)(a-c)}{a+b+c}+\frac{(b-c)(b-d)}{b+c+d}+\frac{(c-d)(c-a)}{c+d+a}+\frac{(d-a)(d-b)}{d+a+b} \geq 0
$$

Question 12

In the plane we consider rectangles whose sides are parallel to the coordinate axes and have positive length. Such a rectangle will be called a box. Two boxes intersect if they have a common point in their interior or on their boundary.

$$

Question 14

In the coordinate plane consider the set $S$ of all points with integer coordinates. For a positive integer $k$, two distinct points $A, B \in S$ will be called $k$-friends if there is a point $C \in S$ such that the area of the triangle $A B C$ is equal to $k$. A set $T \subset S$ will be called a $k$-clique if every two points in $T$ are $k$-friends. Find the least positive integer $k$ for which there exists a $k$-clique with more than 200 elements.
