Question 34

Five pieces of metal, made, respectively, of gold, silver, bronze, platinum and nickel, were placed in five safes, numbered from $1$ to $5$. Each safe contains a piece and the problem is to find out which piece is in which safe. On the door of each safe is written information. Of the five information, four are false and the only one that is true is the one that appears on the door of the safe that contains the gold piece. The information on the safe doors is as follows. Safe $1$: Gold is in the vault $2$ or $3$. Safe $2$: Silver is in the vault $1$. Vault $3$: Bronze is not here. Vault $4$: The nickel is in the safe whose number is lower, in a unit, to the one containing the gold. Safe $5$: The platinum is in the safe whose number is higher, in a unit, to the one containing the bronze.
