Question 178
A certain mathematician loves thinking about problems and baking cakes. After baking his cakes, he cuts them into equal pieces. The following three figures show circular cakes of the same radius, the first two of which were cut into 3 and 4 equal pieces, respectively. He wants to cut the third cake, but the only known marking is the center of the cake. Show that, using a compass and a knife, of sufficiently large sizes, and the first two cakes, it is possible to cut the third into 12 equal pieces.
