The digits 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8 are separated into two groups of four. Each group is formed into a four-digit number and the two numbers are added. Finally the digits in this sum are added together. For example, 3541+7628=11169, with digit sum 1+1+1+6+9=18. What is the difference between the largest possible and smallest possible digit sums?
