A regular heptagon is pressed between two circles, as shown in the figure below. Its vertices are inscribed in the larger circle and its sides are tangent to the smaller circumference. The sides of the polygon measure $2~\mathrm{cm}$ and are tangent to the smaller circle and, in addition, their vertices belong to the larger circumference. So, what is the area of the shaded ring in the figure?
