$\triangle ABC$ is isosceles with $AB = AC$. $D$ is a point on the minor arc $AC$ on the circumcircle of $\triangle ABC$. Let $E$ be the foot of the perpendicular from $A$ to $BD$. Prove that $BE = ED + DC$.
