In the figure below, rectangle $ ABCD $ has a perimeter of 32 cm, where both $ ABFE $ and $ EGHD $ are squares. If the perimeter of $ GFCH $ is 12 cm, then what is the area, in cm², of rectangle $ ABCD $?
